The 2012 XF is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sports sedan, available in 4 trims, ranging from the XF to the XFR.

Upon introduction, the XF is equipped with a standard 5.0-liter, V8, 385-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. The XFR is equipped with a standard 5.0-liter, V8, 510-horsepower, supercharged engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
